Mississippi Public Universities
University Research Center
The University Research Center (URC) conducts applied unbiased research on a variety of state and local issues including revenue estimation, economic impact analysis, socio-economic policy analysis, tax analysis, and population and economic forecasting for the State of Mississippi. Clients include both public and private entities. URC routinely works closely with both the Legislative and Executive branches of state government. State Economist Dr. Darrin Webb is the current Director of the University Research Center. URC is a division of the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning.
The Bureau of Long Range Economic Development Planning supports the Special Task Force for Economic Development Planning. The Bureau is responsible for preparing, maintaining and updating a long range plan for the economic development of the state. Created in 1987, Bureau staff serves as liaison for the Special Task Force to the Governor and the Legislature.

Mississippi Delta Strategic Compact (MDSC) staff supports the MDSC formed in 2010 to carry out the mandate from the legislature to begin a region-wide process to revitalize the Mississippi Delta. The new organization represents a direct response to the challenge issued in the 2009 action plan submitted by the Delta Revitalization Taskforce entitled, "A Time of Reckoning: Testing the Will for change in the Mississippi Delta."

The Mississippi Automated Resource Information System (MARIS) provides access to Mississippi's statewide geographic information system.
