ALCORN STATE PREFERRED PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE TO VISIT LORMAN CAMPUS APRIL 3
3/30/2007 - Jackson, Miss.

Dr. George E. Ross, the Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning’s (IHL) preferred candidate for the next president of Alcorn State University (ASU), will be on Alcorn State’s Lorman Campus Tuesday, April 3, 2007, to participate in open interviews with various campus constituency groups. Participants will have an opportunity to provide written feedback to the Board. At the end of the day, as noted on the schedule below, the Board will meet to determine if Dr. Ross is the next president of Alcorn State, or if the search will continue.

 

All of the day’s events on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, except for the breakfast meeting held at Monmouth Plantation in Natchez, will be held in the James L. Bolden Campus Union Building, Alcorn State University, 100 ASU Drive, Lorman, MS, 39096, and are open to the media. The schedule is as follows:

 

7:00 - 8:00 a.m.: Breakfast with Natchez and surrounding area community leaders; Monmouth Plantation, 36 Melrose Avenue, Natchez, MS, 39120

 

9:00 - 9:45 a.m.: Interview with Vice Presidents and Athletic Director; President’s Conference Room

 

9:45 – 10:25 a.m.: Interview with Deans Council; President’s Conference Room

 

10:30 – 11:15 a.m.: Interview with Academic and Non-academic Department Heads; Campus Union Ballroom

 

11:20 – 12:05 p.m.: Interview with Student Leadership; Campus Union Ballroom

 

12:10 – 1:15 p.m.: Interview and Lunch with the ASU Alumni Association Board; President’s Dining Room

 

1:20 – 2:20 p.m.: Interview with General Faculty; Campus Union Ballroom

 

2:20 – 3:05 p.m.: Interview with Faculty Senate; President’s Conference Room

 

3:05 – 3:45 p.m.: Interview with Professional and Support Staff Advisory Council; Campus Union Ballroom

 

3:45 – 4:25 p.m.: Interview with the School of Agriculture; Campus Union Ballroom

 

4:30 – 5:15 p.m.: Interview with the ASU Foundation Board and Area Leaders; President’s Conference Room

 

5:15 p.m.: Board of Trustees Meeting; President’s Dining Room. An executive session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act. A press conference will be held immediately following the Board Meeting in the Campus Union Ballroom.
