The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) Search Committee for the next President of Alcorn State University (ASU), chaired by Board President Dr. D.E. Magee, Jr., will meet on Tuesday, February 13, 2007, beginning at 7:30 a.m., and Wednesday, February 14, beginning at 7:30 a.m., in the IHL Board Room in the Universities Center, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS, 39211, for the purpose of conducting round one interviews for the next President of Alcorn State University. Representatives from the ASU Search Advisory Committee will participate in the preliminary interviews with the Board Search Committee. The IHL Board Search Committee for the next President of the University of Southern Mississippi, chaired by Trustee Robin Robinson, will meet on Tuesday, February 13, 2007, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the IHL Board Room Conference Room in the Universities Center, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS, 39211. The purpose of the meeting is for the Board Search Committee to discuss the candidate recommendations made by the Southern Miss Search Advisory Committee. An executive session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning will hold its regular monthly meeting Wednesday, February 14, 2007, beginning at 1:30 p.m., and Thursday, February 15, 2007, beginning at 8:30 a.m., in the IHL Board Room in the Universities Center, 3825 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS, 39211. The full Board will convene at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 and will then conduct business as a committee of the whole. The Board will then reconvene at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2007, and will again conduct business as a committee of the whole. Various Board committees, including Educational Policies and Programs; Budget, Finance, and Audit; Real Estate and Facilities; and Legal will meet as part of the Board meeting. The Board will also hear a report from Broaddus & Associates, the consulting firm hired by the Board, to review land options for the additional Southern Miss campus. On Thursday, February 15, the Board will honor Black History Month, and will then recess at 9:20 a.m. to attend the House Appropriations Committee Hearing from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the State Capitol. The Board will reconvene at noon following the Hearing. An executive session may be held in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.

Under the leadership of the Board of Trustees, IHL governs the public universities in Mississippi, including Alcorn State University; Delta State University; Jackson State University; Mississippi State University including the Mississippi State University Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine; Mississippi University for Women; Mississippi Valley State University; the University of Mississippi including the University of Mississippi Medical Center; and the University of Southern Mississippi.
