CAMPUS SEARCH ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO AID IN SEARCH PROCESS FOR NEXT PRESIDENT OF MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY

Commissioner of Higher Education Dr. Hank M. Bounds and Mississippi Valley State University Board Search Committee Chair Shane Hooper announced today the Campus Search Advisory Committee to aid in the search for the next president of Mississippi Valley State University.

“The Board is very fortunate to have a great group of individuals committed to finding the best person to lead Mississippi Valley State University to serve as the voice of the MVSU community and assist the Board with the search,” said Shane Hooper, MVSU Board Search Committee Chair. “We received many excellent nominations and I appreciate everyone who nominated someone for this important committee.”

The Campus Listening Sessions will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 on the Mississippi Valley State University campus in Itta Bena, Miss.

Applicants for the position may apply until August 1, 2013, for best consideration. For more information on the application process, visit the Ayers & Associates Search Web site.

Following the best consideration deadline, Campus Search Advisory Committee members will submit at least five candidates unranked to the Board Search Committee. The Board will select the candidates to be interviewed. A sub-set of the Campus Search Advisory Committee, representing all constituency groups, will comprise the Interview Search Advisory Committee. The Interview Search Advisory Committee will participate in the interview process with the Board of Trustees, with the final decision being made by the Board.

The candidates for president of Mississippi Valley State University will be interviewed later this fall, with a campus visit by the preferred candidate to follow.
