BOARD OF TRUSTEES VOTES TO ALIGN CONTRACTS OF UNIVERSITY PRESIDENTS WITH FISCAL YEAR

6/24/2015 - Jackson, Miss.

The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning voted to align all contracts of university presidents with the same fiscal year at its meeting held last week in Jackson. The administrative adjustment was made to align the contracts with the fiscal year, July 1-June 30, in keeping with the contracts of faculty and staff on the campuses. All contracts were adjusted to end June 30, 2019.

“The decision to align the contracts with the fiscal year was purely administrative in nature,” said Dr. Glenn Boyce, Commissioner of Higher Education.

Included are the contracts of President Al Rankins, Jr., Alcorn State University; President William LaForge, Delta State University; President Carolyn Meyers, Jackson State University; President Mark Keenum, Mississippi State University; President Jim Borsig, Mississippi University for Women; President Will Bynum, Mississippi Valley State University and President Rodney Bennett, University of Southern Mississippi.

“We are pleased with the job performance of the presidents,” said Dr. Boyce. “As we are about to end this fiscal year, it was the obvious time to make this administrative change.”
